Grace & Jo Have Never Solved a Murder
Grace Anderson’s morning is off to a great start—no bedhead, hitting all green lights, even a free scone—until she delivers her boss’s coffee and finds his dead body at his desk. After being questioned by police, Grace feels like she should probably take this as a sign to go back to Florida and declare her recent move to Philadelphia a bust, but her day gets even stranger when her boss’s widow, Jo, shows up at her apartment asking Grace to be her assistant.
There’s a catch. Jo only needs assistance with one thing: solving her husband’s murder. She doesn’t trust the police and is convinced that they, two under qualified millennial women, will have better luck cracking the case. If Jo’s YouTube-inspired “crime board” has anything to say about it, they just might. Somewhat reluctantly, Grace begins the weirdest job of her life, which will see her disguised as the Phillie Phanatic, a retired stripper with a heart of gold, a pro bono housecleaner, and any other identity that might get them closer to the truth and crossing another suspect off Jo’s list. All while balancing her blossoming friendship with Jo and her secret communication with the (painfully handsome) office working the investigation.
