That Which Feeds Us: a Hawaiian Gothic
A diaspora Native Hawaiian girl goes to her ancestral homeland for the first time to find her twin who has gone missing from a luxury island resort built into the bones of an old sugarcane plantation. THAT WHICH FEEDS US is a speculative YA horror in the vein of MEXICAN GOTHIC (but with a teen protagonist) with a touch of SHE IS A HAUNTING and DELICIOUS MONSTERS.
